Lockdown Series

The Pandemic was definitely a very hard hit on most of us, and I tried my best to not lose my head and this series was pretty much an existential coping mechanism.

This Series is a collection of Oil Paintings based on underrated things that are reasons for me to get through this life-time. They range from Sky hues, Non-blue Beaches and Calming Sunsets.

All the Paintings have been named with a feeling that connected me to the process of making it.

Shambhala

Shambhala means “Tranquillity”.

It is the quality or state of being tranquil; that is, calm, serene, and worry-free.

Ferris Wheel

It astounds me that ordinary people eagerly trade in the serenity of the ground for a chance to be thrown through the air.

Tiram

Tiram means Shore of the oceans in Telegu and Vitality & Power in Tamil. Well, both of them were truly depicted in this painting.

Tarang

“Tarang” which means waves. They are in fact one of the most obvious phenomena of the ocean.
I hope you find yourself visualising its glorious vastness, its dreamy surface and straining to hear its metronomic wave music!

Junoon

Junoon means Madness, a drive of passion. Of all the days in the year, this one has been truly special – not because of any specific event or moment, but it has made me conscious of the simplicity and beauty of life.

Dyut

It means Ray of light. With two main colors in my mind as Yellow ochre and Prussian blue.
Although there’s a punch of burnt sienna to give the sun rays’ raw texture and how the colour of the sea changes once light hits the water.
